Check your surroundings if ever there are hazards that can harm you. Ask questions like, is it safe to walk on that hallway without lights? Are the cabinets easy to reach? Are those rugs can cause you to slip? Creating questions in your mind can help you identify those threats and make a solution for it.

When you are done distinguishing those potential areas, you can now work on your plan. For blind people, floors must not be too slippery for them to walk. And mostly for cripples, you also can install ramps so that they will not need to climb on stairs and can reach upstairs without difficulty.

Secondly, another room that is quite difficult to utilize is bathroom. Tiles can be slippery because of the water. Plus getting inside the tubs or showers is kind of hard for handicapped people. And it could be quite a hassle for caretakers too.

To make it easier for them, you can just eliminate those shower doors. Installing grip bars can also be useful as you can find something easy to hold. Tubs and showers can also be built next to a seat so it may be possible to sit down while having a shower.
