In case you have pets, they should have up to date vaccinations. Measures should also be taken to train them, so as to minimize chances of them attacking the kids. Also teach kids how to handle the pets for their own safety. Cover up any swimming pools. Ensure restricted access to the internet, so that kids cannot access pornographic sites or any adult materials in your residence.

When the social worker comes, they will interview everyone in the house, therefore, prepare the house occupants so that they are psychologically ready for this. Ensure that your household supplies have been stored safely. Ask your social worker to advice you on how to best prepare your house.
