Necessary Occasions For Using Vintage Floral Table Runners

By Karen Roberts

Tables were initially covered by tablecloths to make them look presentable. This was especially for a certain occasion or event. They came in different colors and were chosen depending on different tastes and preference of people. That era of table cloths has been masked by vintage floral table runners. These are thin or medium sized strips of cloth which are placed on the tables.

They look good irrespective of the color used. This means they are versatile and could fit any color chosen depending on different taste. Most common colors are red, pink, green, cream, purple and blue among others. Colors are not just selected but rather depending on their significance and symbolism associated with them. It is not uncommon to find many people associating the red color to signify love.

They are bestowed with different and a wide range of patterns, and this even allows someone to customize the pattern to suit an exact occasion. They could as well bear names of people; a good instance is at a wedding whereby they can be designed with the names of the bride and groom. This truly declares that it is their day and also make them proud of themselves. They end up valuing the day long after the wedding.

The floral designs could be made to look or appear as desired, for instance, they could be made to take the shape of the heart. This would be perfect for a wedding or engagement parties, or a family get-together party. The colors of the flower designs also impact a lot on the overall feeling people get when they look at them.

The materials used in their manufacture have a wide range. They include the following examples; cotton, silk, velvet, polyester, damask ad satin. These are materials known for their strength and durability, thus are long lasting. These materials are durable such that are not destroyed when accidentally spilled on with juices or wine. They display a great ability of resilience and maintain their shape even after washing.

The amalgamation of great skill in their manufacture and valuable material used make them priceless antiques. After use, they should be washed so as to keep their original color. It is made by combining two techniques which are the contemporary methods and traditional ones, thus bearing the name vintage.

They are becoming popular and being used almost in every corner of the world. Perhaps this is because of their convenience and versatility. They look attractive to the eye, and brightly done colors give a sense ad feeling of relaxation. They are slightly more expensive than the common clothes. The common clothes are cheap, but their durability is not long when compared to table runners.

Great care should be applied when washing and handling them because nothing is totally resistant to wear and tear, but the rate of wear could just be reduced. This can be achieved by cautious washing with the right type of detergents. In storing, they should be properly kept to avoid excessive creasing, which would destroy the patterns and necessitate ironing. Ironing is not recommended because it might accelerate wear and fading.
