Benefits Of Using Cloud Based Clover POS Systems

By Betty Edwards

With all the things that people need to be doing in a market place setting, there is barely any time to properly organize and balance out the books manually. That would just essentially be slow and inefficient. Not to mention manually doing the Point of Sales process can be subjected to some human error. What used to be a classic mechanical cash register has evolved through out the centuries.

This set up is basically comprised with a terminal, monitor, printer, scanner and even one that can process both debit and credit cards. The special thing about the Clover POS system is how it is connected to the cloud. Now that is another term that is not exactly familiar. A cloud is the term used for a virtual database or file cabinet that help keep and process information.

Apart from the benefits that any system gets from the cloud, this particular POS is specially designed for the purpose of business. This does not only extend to the software but also the hardware. It is essentially a tablet, With a stand, a scanner and a printer. The more common and old school ones that are still used have the same set up, only bulkier and with limited features.

The tablet and other hardware were built especially for this POS, so you are guaranteed there would be no breach of security that can come from unrelated applications and other effects of personal usage. This normally happens to Android smartphones since they are not specially made for this purpose.

There are no chances that applications unrelated and unauthorized by Clover can get through even when staff will try. All third party apps are acquired through the system and only for purposes related to POS. Apart from that the hardware is easy on the eyes and does not a specialty expert for it to be installed and set up in your store.

Just like the first digital cash registers, these also process debit and credit cards. One huge and important distinction is how using credit card for processing is made so much easier and allows customer just digitally sign the receipt. If businesses would need application that are well beyond what this POS can offer, there is always the option of having a third party developer to make a specific application.

This is what give the Android POS an edge. The only limit you have for customization depends on the limit you have on expending for extra application development. There are special made applications that you can add and buy from Clover that were also made by third party developer. The prices are not determined by the company that created the hardware and built in applications but by the third party developer.

Clover also offers customer support but is specifically for their built in applications. Third party services are also independent when it comes to their own customer support. POS systems are supposed to make the whole sales process easier which also includes procurement of supplies and products especially when they are about to run out.

This is the latest when it comes to Point of Sales setups. While you may be thinking that there would be no need to replace what you already have, you may want to reconsider. This being cloudbased means there is little to no chance that your records will be lost. Miscalculations, if any can definitely be pinned on erroneous input of data and not the system itself. This increases accuracy and efficiency by a lot.
