Why Moral Values And Ethics Should Be Taught At Schools?

By Martha Peterson

Life can be tricky and most of the time, people find it hard to decide and believe whether that thing is either good or bad. Consequently, many wrong decisions had been made leading to either regret or destruction in their life. Most says that the outlook of this world lies at the young descendants in this new generation. And that is the job of an educator to educate them with moral values and ethics whether they are in a private, public, Catholic or Christian Schools in Jacksonville.

A child has a tendency to explore on his or her surroundings and follow what he or she had seen. That is why a family should always guide those children especially nowadays that kids are exposed to social media. With one click from a video in Facebook or Youtube, they can view some contents that are not appropriate for them.

Parents can also affect the moral thinking of a child. If a family is dysfunctional, there will be a tendency that children will grow as avoidant in society or even worse than that. How the family disciplined the children may affect the mental and emotional growth. If the home is a toxic place, school can provide safety and serve as a second home for children.

Schools do not only exist in order to make students scratch their head every time they solve Math problems. The organization is building and moulding a student to be a good person in a country. Correspondingly, being educated can take you to any path you want. That is why having that is important and must not be ignored.

Because the school organization wants to produce good individuals in the state, academics is not the only focal point in teaching. Values education and ethics must be lectured at schools. Students might found it so boring but these subjects are really applicable to life.

Usually humans tend to conform on what everyone is doing. If the world requires taking selfies after waking up, people would follow. Because of that, they lose their opportunity to reflect a reason behind those acts. If you keep on conforming without justifying, you will remain ignorant.

These two concepts must be taught to students in schools. Since lots of people especially adolescents like to conform in the community, many wrongdoings would usually happen. It sometimes leads a person to become illogical and cannot stand alone without relying the ideas from the others.

Schools should also prioritize the moral assessment of a student. And so, ethics and values should not be taken for granted by many people. Children may find it how to figure out if the act is right or wrong because lots of versions are being distributed in this planet. The job of the teachers specializing in that field is to guide and teach them so that their decision-making skills and moral development will improve.

These concepts have to be taught in schools. For sure, lots of educators had a vision of a good society. Therefore, this must not be taken for granted.
